Longniddry: A Harry Colt Classic

  • Longniddry Golf Club Links Road Longniddry, Scotland, EH32 0NL United Kingdom (map)

Just 18 miles from Edinburgh sits one of Scotland’s most distinctive and underrated tests of golf. Designed by Harry S Colt, Longniddry is a proper challenge - no par 5s, but eight tough par 4s over 400 yards.

Set on the south shore of the Firth of Forth, it’s the closest seaside links to the capital, blending classic links golf with pockets of woodland and sea views on many holes. A former Open qualifying venue, it’s a course full of character… traditional, demanding, and hugely enjoyable to play.

We’ll meet in the clubhouse from around 10:15am for tea or coffee, before heading to the first tee at 11:08pm. After the round, we’ll return to the clubhouse to enjoy a one-course meal and a drink, rounding off our day on the links.

The round begins just steps from the clubhouse and finishes in full view of the west-facing patio - the perfect spot for a well-earned drink overlooking Fife and Arthur’s Seat.

This is a members-only 1457 Society event, with places limited to maintain the relaxed and friendly atmosphere that defines our days.
